A Web walk each day with Peggie through a home called Peggie’s Place! . . . .
He is SIX FOOT SIX, and stands tall, above us all, as family photos prove….that’s our Jason, affectionately known as “the family rascal!”
But that’s not the kind of “tall” I’m talking about…You may not even hit the six foot mark, but physical height does not matter in the Kingdom of God. You can stand for righteous living no matter how tall or short you are!
You see, we live in a wicked world, truth on one side, error on the other…and if you’ve been on the Internet surfing the Web for any length of time, you know what I mean. On one side of the Web stand those who serve God, boldly proclaiming the love, joy and peace of the Lord. On the other side stand those who boldly curse God. Oh, they too proclaim love, joy and peace–but it’s their brand–in the form of pornography, off-color humor, and off-beat spirituality! It’s a wild, wacky world out there! What to do???
Do we flee? NO! We stand straight and stedfast for the Lord. We continue to proclaim Christ as the way, the truth and the life. We can shine all over the Web–in personal Christian home pages, social networking, church and ministry web sites, Christian teens and kids’ pages. You don’t have a Web site? You’re not on Facebook? You’ve got email–SHINE for Him! I’ll never forget a good friend of mine encouraging me when attacked by evil on the Internet. In words of similar context, he urged me to STAND boldly for Him when I found myself confronting the evils in our world…and you can too – be a blessing in this sinful world and you will find blessing for yourself!
Be cautious, alert, discerning, thoughtful, of course–but don’t be afraid. For He, the Lord of all, stands with us, supports us, strengthens us, and through Him, we are more than conquerors.
How tall are you? Doesn’t matter in God’s Kingdom. STAND TODAY FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS, no matter how tall you are in real life–and you will have a great day!
Scripture: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).”
Prayer: “Lord, we are Your people, and yet, sometimes we are afraid to stand up for what’s right in our world. Give us the courage and strength to boldly stand for righteousness, to know that You stand with us, and we need not fear, In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
