Love Bugs and Bytes

A Web walk each day with Peggie through a home called Peggie’s Place! . . . .

Who’s been “bugging” you lately? Let’s admit it! People do bug us from time to time–kids, spouses, family, friends–saints and sinners alike! Or maybe you just bug YOURSELF! You talk too much or not enough, your body’s too puny or too plump, your age is too young or too old–or you wouldn’t dare tell a soul what’s REALLY buggin’ you!

STOP it! Be “bugged” no longer with all the bad stuff! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and the love bug is about to byte us all! Grab some red paper hearts and run to the well–the Lover of our souls waits there for us all–single, married, couples, widowed, grandmas, grandpas–along with some very strange bugs…come with me and you’ll see!

The Cuddlebug!

Remember when love was fresh and new? Your favorite thing to do was just cuddle–and enjoy the love God had sent your way. Maybe those times are long gone, and all that’s left is a muddle–a muddle of living life in the fast lane. There’s work at home, at the office, at the church–there’s worries for yourself, your family, your friends. Life’s not fun anymore–it’s a hassle and a headache, and you’ve had it! Well, hang on–have I got an idea for you!

Jesus Christ, Lover of your soul, wants to bring back that first love. Not just the human love we all want and need; but a divine love that breaks down every barrier. If that barrier is between you and your mate, you and your kids, you and a friend, or you and the Lord–His love is available to resolve all relationships; to bring back love and kindness, gentleness and peace back into your life!

But you still need a hug? Then go GIVE a hug–find a lonely kid, a senior friend, a stressed-out saint–bring them the joy of the Lord and a REAL hug–watch what happens. Real love will return to YOUR world too–for in giving it away, we find it! Be a cuddlebug to someone today–it will make their day–and yours too!

Love Byte: A hug a day keeps the devil away!

The Grumblebug!

Remember when your mate, your friend, or a family member could do no wrong? Maybe now you’re thinking he or she can do no right! The Grumblebug’s taken a byte out of your world, and you need help! Living or working with a grumblebug is no fun, whether YOU live/work with one, or you ARE one! Don’t let this Valentine’s Day go by with a grumble….cause I know SOMEONE who’s waiting to fix it for you.

Jesus Christ, Lover of your soul, wants to step in and work a miracle in your world. Actually, just change one letter of the word “GRUMBLE” and you’ve got your answer. “HUMBLE” yourself before the Lord and your mate, or with whomever. Admit your wrongs, gently point out another’s wrong–communicate clearly and lovingly with that person you once loved long ago, and then communicate to the Lord together.

Try it–for you can’t be mad at a person and pray with them too! It works–your Lord wants you to give HIM the grumbles; let them go, humble yourself, and just watch what He will do! Someone’s waiting for you to turn into a HUMBLEbug–it will make their day–and yours too!

Love Byte: A grin works a lot better than a grumble…try it!

The Clutterbug!

Remember when you and your mate, friend, or family member talked for hours and hours? You shared every tidbit of fun and friendship, of love and laughter. You talked out the hard stuff–and it drew you closer. But no more–now you hold it in. You don’t talk; you don’t share. And the hurts have built up–they clutter your life, just like the contents of that messy hall closet you hide from the world! It’s time to houseclean all the hurts. You know what they are; better still, God knows what they are, and HE’S waiting to fix it for you.

Jesus Christ, Lover of your soul, wants to once again walk into your life and fill it with His love and grace. But He can’t–there’s no room, until you get the broom, the mop, the “Dustbuster” and whatever else you need. OK, get the largest trash bag you can find and get rid of all the hurts, big and little. Hold on to them no longer…and when you let go, something wonderful will happen.

The newly cleansed heart will have all the room in the world for HIS love and grace; His healing will come–but you must first clean out the trash. He will transform your closed heart into one which doesn’t hang on to every hurt. He will teach you to let the hurts go–and you’ll have learned the best Valentine lesson you will ever need for the rest of your life! The old Clutterbug will be gone–it will make someone’s day today–and yours too!

Love Byte: Hang loose to the hurts in your heart!

The Wonderbug!

Now, Mr. or Mrs. Married Person, this one’s for you! When you and the Lord have worked through this Valentine’s Day assignment, when the Cuddlebug is in a HUG mode, when the Grumblebug is GONE, and the Clutterbug’s done cleaning house, you’re ready to celebrate. It’s time to bring back the WONDERBUG–to renew and treasure the wonder of the love God’s given you.

God has a way of putting special love into the hearts of two people for one another. That’s His way–from WAY back in the Garden of Eden. It began with Adam and Eve–they messed up, but you don’t have to anymore! God can restore the wonder of your love, and oh, by the way, if you’ve never lost it, HE’LL make it better–just you wait and see! God is a lover–He wants to share a bit of heaven on earth with YOU and your mate, if you’ll just let Him. Now–go HUG, HUMBLE, and HOUSECLEAN–and do have a WONDERFUL Valentine’s Day!

Scripture: “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us…(1 John 3:2 KJV).”

Prayer: “Jesus, Lover of my soul…….I’ll do my part, if You’ll do yours! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

GOOD SAMARITAN

A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan. She asked the class, ‘If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?’

A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, “I think I’d throw up.”

DID NOAH FISH?

A Sunday school teacher asked, “Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark?”
