There’s a Devo in My Junk Mail…Better Check Yours!?!

(Please note: If you did not receive “Fun ‘n Faith Friday on the Web,” check your email junk box, or read it here: Fun ‘n Faith Friday – Mother’s Day Edition!)

We all have an infamous “junk box” or two in our cluttered homes, our kids’ rooms and our to-be-cleaned-out garages – that’s normal living where I come from….BUT…When a devotional you send out to approximately 1,000 subscribers ends up in someone’s email JUNK BOX, as has been reported this weekend, you’re in trouble……..no, YOU are not in trouble; the DEVIL is…..He doesn’t throw a devo from God’s Word into anyone’s junk box without repercussion from THIS webminister – and here it comes!

You see, he, the junk collector, would love to snatch God’s Word from your heart and mine, throw it in the trash and hound you into hopeless doom and gloom…..but thanks to Calvary, he can’t do that anymore! God’s Word is hid in your heart and mine; he might send an email devo to the trash but he can’t take God’s Word to the dump and leave it there.

God’s Word is alive and well – it is food to the hungry soul; drink to the thirsty spirit; love, joy and peace to the troubled mind. Read it, memorize it, hold on to it for heaven’s sake – it is your sustenance, your strength, your wisdom, your very life and all that you need for every day.

Now just in case this past Friday’s devotional ended up in YOUR junk mail box in this marvelous world of technology, go dig it out – it’s not junk and neither are you. You are God’s creation, His dear child; He loves you, holds you close and has redeemed you for all eternity.

I’ve had my fill of the devil’s junk in my life, how about you! Read God’s treasure-filled Word, receive His promises and REJOICE – JESUS IS LORD! Now go tell that to the junk man from hell – and have a great day!!!

Scripture: Psalm 119.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10 NIV).”

Prayer: “Lord, I’m tired of all the junk Satan’s been tryin’ to pile into my life, but when he attempts to steal His Word from my heart, I will run to You. You have come that I might have love, joy and peace, not JUNK, and I claim victory from the devil’s oppression in my life this day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”
